A look at portuguese animation

As a result of the solid partnership between ESAD and CINANIMA - International Animation Film Festival, the Olhares sobre a Animação Portuguesa project will be presented on 23 April at ESAD's library at 11am, in the form of two academic publications that analyse the work of Portuguese animation filmmakers Vasco Sá and David Doutel, and Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves (BAP-Animation Studios) in a multi and transdisciplinary way.

The publications will be presented by Marina Estela Graça (University of the Algarve).

CINANIMA is an animation film festival that has developed a regular activity in promoting this cinematographic form and its authors, in what is considered a project of Portuguese cultural decentralisation, having managed to establish itself as an event of international importance.

The CINANIMA in Universities initiative, which ESAD has been a part of since 2021, reaches more than a dozen Portuguese academic partners, covering the entire national territory, bringing a showcase of the best of the world's auteur animation cinema.
