PROGRAMME

**The water footprint of our society: What is the future of sustainable water resources?
22.03.2024, 10:30 [auditorium]

  • Sofia Domingues / Hidroval
In a world where water is becoming an increasingly scarce and precious resource, it is essential that we understand our society's water footprint and explore strategies to ensure the sustainability of water resources. In this talk, we will discuss the current landscape of water use, examining how our daily activities impact local and global water resources. We will address crucial issues such as efficient water management, water pollution and the consequences of climate change on water resources. This session is being organised by Sofia Domingues, a scientific researcher in the field of Biomedicine and HIDROVAL's Marketing and Communications Director.

IA in design: A creative revolution or an imminent challenge?
22.04.2024, 10:30 [auditorium]

  • Jeremy Aston / ESAD
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has gone from a distant concept to an integral part of our daily lives. In the field of design, its potential impact is profound and multifaceted. As of spring 2024, statistics indicate a significant integration of AI into all industries, with projections suggesting substantial contributions to the global economy by 2030. In the midst of this transformative scenario, the design community faces fundamental questions: How can we harness the power of AI to increase creativity and innovation? What implications does this have for our traditional design processes? This session will be led by Jeremy Aston, professor, researcher and specialist in Industrial Design with a Master's in Vehicle Design, and will take place in ESAD's auditorium on 22 April, in celebration of World Earth Day, at 10:30.

The Water Design Views are funded by the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan.
