As part of the Interior Design course's Colour Laboratory, a lecture entitled "The Memory of Colour" will be held with the support of the CIN. Considering the importance and cross-cutting nature of the subject, the lecture will be open to the entire academic community.

Throughout the presentation, a number of videos will be shown, including Antologia and Color Revelation. During the presentation of the films, pauses will be taken to develop and frame some of the characteristics of colour, such as:

The Emotional Side of Colour;

Perceived colour and Inherent colour;

The importance of Light and Energy in "colour reading";

The Whiteness, Chromaticity and Darkness of colour;

Structure and Brightness;

Using CIN's most recent colour tool, the "Anthology Catalogue", the participants will be offered small exercises with a view to drawing up a 5-colour palette under the aegis of ESAD - CIN Trends 2024.

The training will last approximately 2 hours.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE OF THE GUEST TRAINER

Maria João Rocha was born in 1967 in Vila Nova de Gaia, where she also grew up and still lives. She completed her education, from primary to secondary school, at Colégio de Gaia, before moving on to the Gudi Fashion School, where she graduated in Fashion Styling and Fabric Design in 1989.
After graduating, João was an intern in Paris at the renowned ESMOD - LAVIGNE trend office, contributing to design projects in international trend books. Back in Porto, she presented her own collection at the PORTEX international fair.
Between 1990 and 1998 she worked as a training consultant in Visual Merchandising and Colour Consultancy for various companies in the north of Portugal, including the Maconde group. In 1998, she decided to change her professional focus to interior design after completing an entrepreneurship course at ANJE-Porto.
Since then, he has worked on Visual Merchandising consultancy projects for the Braga and Barcelos Trade Associations. In 2000, she founded Oficina da Imagem, working with the company TGV Interiores to renovate the image of shops and provide colour and visual merchandising consultancy.
Between 2011 and 2017 she collaborated with the Indian HN Group, having taken part in some decoration projects in other countries, namely London, Ghana and Angola. Since 2012, she has been a partner with CIN - Tintas de Portugal, developing colour consultancy projects and holding workshops on various topics, such as "The Power of Colour in Decoration" and "Craft Effects".
With a firm belief in the therapeutic power of colour and its influence on environments, Maria João believes that the universe of colour has much to reveal about the essence and harmony of the world.
