Paolo Scoppola

— Paolo Scoppola, artist and lecturer at the Quasar Institute for Advanced Design in Rome, organised an open class on Interactive Art.

    Digital Art, Interaction, Multimedia, Degree ProgrammePaolo Scoppola is the author of a series of interactive video installations based on natural interfaces. Born in Rome in 1971, his passion for music and drawing was born at school. He later discovered his interest in photography and then computer science, which he studied at university. After graduating, he worked for ten years developing virtual reality applications and 3D software, also creating some musical projects for television productions and a series of photographic reports. After a brief period as a teacher at the Experimental Cinematography Centre (Italian National Film School), he dedicated himself to interactive video installations. In 2008, he presented his first work: Reflection, at the Spoleto Festival. In 2011, he extended his interests to brainwave-based interaction, developing research projects in collaboration with the University of Trieste. She currently works with advertising agencies, research organisations and participates in festivals and cultural events.

    On 23 May, he presented the open class "Interactive Art" in the ESAD auditorium, where he spoke about his professional projects and gave a real-time demonstration of an interactive exercise.

    This initiative was carried out as part of the Erasmus+ Teacher Mobility Programme, together with the Coordination of the Degree in Digital Arts and Multimedia.
