Ayres Gonçalo (tailor) and Carsten Fiebig (fashion designer and product manager) present a conference on the theme 'Menswear', as part of the ESAD FASHION TALKS cycle.

[Ayres Gonçalo][1] grew up in a traditional family of tailors. For that reason, at the age of 16, he decides to start working part-time in his grandfather's atelier, the Ayres Alta Costura. In 2004 he began his studies at the Sociedad de Sastres de España in Madrid to improve his knowledge and techniques. During this period he worked with the prestigious tailor Pedro Muñoz and, the following year, he was certified as a Sastreria Cutter by the Sociedad de Sastres de España. In 2006 he went to London to fulfil his dream of working on Savile Row - the famous London street where the world's most prestigious tailors work. In 2009 he was a finalist in the Golden Shears Contest and in 2010 he was certified Savile Row Bespoke Tailor by the Savile Row Bespoke Association. Shortly after, he moved to New York, where he had the opportunity to work with Michael Andrews Bespoke. Later, back in Portugal and with the purpose of continuing the family tradition, Ayres Gonçalo founded the brand Ayres Bespoke Tailor.

Carsten Fiebig (Germany) is a fashion designer and product manager with over 15 years experience in the fashion industry. His work includes collaborations for major companies such as Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger. Menswear is his specialisation and in his creations he combines technical knowledge with design skills, combined with a commercial mentality. With a focus on the product, from concept to design direction, collection development, to presentation and marketing.

The [ESAD FASHION TALKS][3] cycle, organised as part of the BA in Fashion Design, aims to explore the complexity of skills in the area of design, from the ideation of concepts to the values and practices implemented in each project, focusing on the analysis of different fashion market segments, such as the competitive menswear, womenswear, kidswear, beachwear and knitted knitwear markets.
