Bodies leave. Clothes remain.

This is the starting point for “Cartografia do Desgaste”, the project with which ESAD is taking part, for the second time, in Contextile — Contemporary Textile Art Biennial.

Reused clothing, beeswax, clay, paint, wood, sensors and sound occupy a 40 m² installation. Developed by students from the Undergraduate Degree in Design — Fashion, in collaboration with the Undergraduate Degree in Digital Arts and Multimedia, the project questions what remains after use and the impact of production and consumption cycles.

“Cartografia do Desgaste” is part of the exhibition “Emergências: Ensino Artístico e Criação Têxtil”, opening on 5 September at 15:00 at IDEGUI — Instituto do Design de Guimarães.
