CINANIMA is an animation film festival that has developed a regular activity to promote this cinematographic form and its authors, in what is considered a Portuguese cultural decentralisation project, and has managed to establish itself as an internationally important event.

The CINANIMA at the Universities initiative, which ESAD has been part of since 2021, reaches more than a dozen Portuguese academic partners, covering the whole of Portugal, bringing a showcase of the best of the world's animated auteur cinema.

This extension of CINANIMA at ESAD is part of the partnership between the two institutions and is part of the programme for the 47th edition of the festival, which takes place in Espinho from 13 to 19 November.
