
ESAD ID Talks 2020's first guest, Christian Haas, is an industrial designer from Germany. Christian Haas's approach to design is marked by simplicity, elegance and harmony between sobriety, usefulness, emotionality, longevity and uniqueness.
In his studio, established in Porto since 2015, Haas works with international brands such as Villeroy & Boch, Arita/2016, Karakter and Schoenburg. Over the years, his work has been honored with awards like the Red Dot Design Award or the Elle Decoration International Design Award.
His works include the lighting edition ROPES, part of the permanent collection of the Vitra Design Museum, the furniture range of the Japanese producer Karimoku New Standard and some of the finest tableware series of the last 10 years.
Christian Haas conference will also feature speakers Sónia Soeiro and Rúben Costa and will take place on January 31 at 10:45 am in the ESAD auditorium.
ESAD ID Talks are conferences with prestigious national and international designers, who come to ESAD to share their professional experiences and to present behind the scenes of their projects and processes, as well as to talk about the challenges behind innovative design solutions for today's industry. The cycle of conferences and workshops is part of the Master and Degree program in Product Design and the Postgraduate Course in Automotive and Transportation Design and Furniture Design.
