Habitar 424

Habitar 424 is one of the projects in the main programme of the second edition of the Porto Design Bienalle, conducted by Assemble Studio and El Warcha. The project aims to reconceptualise the common understanding of homelessness, while providing an evolving community resource for the future.

Curated by Inês Marques, Fran Edgerley and Olivia Page, the project will explore material ecologies by developing the design to incorporate industrial and bio-based waste. The project will be built over the course of the first half of the Biennale, enabling a public program building on Saber Comprender’s work recognising peer-to-peer education and valuing the lived-experience of homelessness.

ESAD collaborated with the project, under the scope of the Degree in Fashion Design, in the production process of the canvases that are part of the exhibition piece.
