Hemant sharda

In the framework of CINANIMA - Espinho International Animated Film Festival, Hemant Sharda presents at ESAD the masterclass on the themes of animation, audiovisual production, games and television.

Hemant Sharda is the international director of the UK's National Film and Television School (NFTS) and is responsible for a vast network of partnerships with organizations, sponsors, schools and film festivals worldwide.

The NFTS is one of the world's largest schools in film, games and television, referred to in the Social communication as one of the top five international film schools. It is a school that builds and promotes industry leaders by bringing together various awards: NFTS students are often represented at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards, having in the past four years been awarded the short- footage. Also noteworthy are the Grierson Award for Best Student Documentary, Royal Television Society and Annecy Animation Awards. NFTS students have already been nominated for 7 Oscars and 100 BAFTA awards, including names like Roger Deakins (often works with the Coen brothers), David Yates (known for making the Harry Potter films), Nick Park (creator of Wallace & Gromit) and Dario Marianelli (composer of music for cinema), among others.

Hemant Sharda's masterclass, although is open to all interested in animation, audiovisual production, games and television, is specially directed to students of the Degree in Digital Arts and Multimedia. The conference has as a starting point the question Why go to a Film School?, presenting a selection of the works done by NFTS.
