Jossie Malis is coming to ESAD regarding the program CINANIMA, an international animation movie festival attended each year by multiple prestigious names from the field of animation and illustration.

Jossie Malis is an independent producer from the Studio Zumbakamera, in Spain. Holding a particular passion for the imaginary that incorporates machines and cosmos, he dedicated himself, since the age of 15, to the creation of short-films, music videos and series, such as the rewarded Bendito Machine, besides multiple audiovisual projects in which he was involved. He participated in multiple international festivals, as a jury member, and his films were selected in various festivals such as Annecy, Sitges, CINANIMA, BAF, Hiroshima, SICAF or Fantastic Fest, among others. His works feature sharp comments regarding human beings and their weaknesses, machines, fears and the mysteries of the universe.

At the masterclass Abençoada Independência – conducted for the students in the Degree in Multimedia and Digital Arts and open for everyone who is interested in Illustration and Animation – Jossie Malis presents his work methodology, sharing with the audience multiple tactics to succeed as an independent producer, sorting different ways of financing and distribution of projects and audiovisual productions. Jossie also shares every creative process used in the development of the awarded series, Bendito Machine.
