Lance Wyman, American graphic designer and renowned creator, presents the lecture `Getting Around*, an initiative of experimentadesign in partnership with ESAD and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
With a career spanning over 50 years and a vast portfolio, Lance Wyman has helped define and amplify the language of Communication Design as we know it today. His professional career includes the design of the logo for the Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968 or the poster for Barack Obama's campaign in 2008.
Considered one of the most influential graphic designers of our time, recognized as one of the main drivers of this area, Lance Wyman reveals the power of Graphic Design in the culture and visual identity of society, marking our imaginary and our individual and collective references.
*Getting Around takes place on the 24th May at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon and on the 25th May at 14:30 in the ESAD auditorium. In this lecture Lance Wyman will unveil a little the mysticism associated with his most famous projects and talk about creative processes, ideas and values that define his work practice, as well as conjectures about the current position of graphic design and its direction for the future.
The lecture takes place in person, with live streaming on ESAD's Instagram, and will be given in English, followed by a Q&A session. Admission is free.
