
Laura Meseguer is a graphic and type designer based in Barcelona, who specializes in book design, favoring all sorts of typography projects.
She creates custom-designed letters, from monograms to entire alphabets, for both commercial commissions and personal projects. Through her own type foundry - Type-Ø-Tones - she publishes and promotes her type designs. In addition to her work, Laura also finds time to teach type design as part of the Master’s degree in Graphic Design at Eina and be a consultant in the Master’s degree in Graphic Design at Elisava.
Laura’s work, which has been featured in specialized magazines and books and in several exhibitions and conferences, received the Laus Award (2003 e 2011), the Certificate of Typographic Excellence (2005) and the Atypl Letter.2 (2011) for Rumba typeface.
She is a member of the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI) and she is the author of the book TypoMag. Typography in Magazines, published by Index Book and co-author of the book Cómo crear tipografías. Del boceto a la pantalla, published by Tipo e.
In the scope of the Communication Design Week, Laura Meseguer gives a workshop at ESAD called “Cooking Stencils”, about typography based on the stencil technique.
