Product Design

Over the years, design methodologies and the definition of “designer” have changed. There was a transition, and at the same time, an appreciation of the designer as just an individual designer for inclusion in a multidisciplinary team, as Design is a very complex area that encompasses several areas of knowledge. The Designer, in addition to being a creative, has to be an element that seeks tools to develop a comprehensive and as up-to-date knowledge as possible according to trends and technological advances that affect the market where it operates, in order to assist and optimize the company in the various fields. There is a need to make people aware of the longevity of their products, try to fight consumerism and most importantly eradicate waste through the reuse of resources. We live in a consumer society, where there is an increasing scarcity of raw materials and eventually there will no longer be enough resources to satisfy the current needs of our society. Going forward, the role of the designer will be to be increasingly concerned with these types of problems - designing products with a focus on durability and the optimization of the use of raw materials, including the intelligent reuse of any waste created during the process of manufacturing.

This project was carried out as part of the Undergraduate in Design — Product internship.
