This proposal addresses the final-year project brief for the Undergraduate degree, which is to design a catering space in the Central Pavilion of the Casa da Arquitetura.

"Memória" is a Portuguese food market that celebrates gastronomy as cultural heritage and a bridge between generations. Inspired by childhood memories, family lunches and recipes passed down through the generations, the project is organised like a small inland village comprising six sections, each dedicated to a different culinary category and associated with the identity of a fictional grandmother. Through this narrative, food becomes an experience of memory, connection and sharing.

The design combines white tiles, ash wood and stainless steel, striking a balance between tradition and modernity. The layout of the spaces creates an intuitive route that guides visitors through the various culinary offerings, whilst the dining areas encourage socialising and reinforce the market’s communal character. More than just a place to eat, "Memória" recreates the atmosphere of a family meal, celebrating the hospitality and richness of Portuguese cuisine.
