As part of the DESIGNAgorà ‘LI(ea)VING UTOPIA’ project supported by dgARTES and at the invitation of ASCIP Dante Alighieri, ESAD, ESAP, FBAUP and IULM University in Italy challenged their students to produce short films on the theme of Utopia, looking for their own dimension between the possible and the impossible, the real and the surreal. Two avenues of research were suggested: ‘Utopia in the city’ in order to delve deeper into the theme of Utopia, looking at the city, its most iconic buildings, its most visionary protagonists, among others, and ‘Utopia in everyday life’ inviting us to take a closer look, in everyday life, at the signs and manifestations that might point the way to thinking about a new Utopia. 

Studio Utopia's winning project was the short film METAPODIA by students from ESAD's Degree in Digital Arts and Multimedia, which was presented at Casa Comum - Rectory U. Porto and viewed at the awards ceremony at the Biodiversity Gallery Biodiversity Gallery - Living Science Centre / | Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Porto.
