The infomotion project ‘NEBbyAYR will create new ways of designing and living in cities’, carried out under the partnership agreement between the Centre of Excellence for Innovation in the Automotive Industry (CEiiA) and ESAD, was designed to be displayed on digital outdoords in the city of Matosinhos. By highlighting sustainable behaviour, the AYR platform also works as an urban policy tool, inducing new ways of thinking and designing cities and urban spaces based on values of sustainability, inclusion and aesthetics. In fact, empowering citizens to participate in the decarbonisation of cities, with individual and collective returns, leads to new, more sustainable and inclusive ways of living. Each individual can act as an agent of change with their families and circle of friends, creating communities that share sustainability values and practise environmentally friendly actions. Based on the data and information collected and the knowledge generated through the AYR platform, it is possible, for example, to rethink mobility and sustainability flows with a view to reorganising cities.
