This project was developed as part of the final project of the ESAD Undergraduate Degree in Product Design. The brief challenged students to develop an innovative product based on the theme "Energy", exploring one of three proposed subthemes — Safety, Well-being or Fun — through a process of research, ideation, experimentation and product development.
Developed under the Well-being subtheme, this project proposes a system of interaction between the body, space and nature for urban green areas. Rather than fulfilling a single function, the system encourages multiple forms of use, promoting relaxation, social interaction, contemplation, and physical and mental well-being.
The proposal incorporates flexible photovoltaic fabric capable of capturing and storing solar energy to power USB-C charging, wireless charging and ambient and functional LED lighting. By combining energy autonomy, sustainability and new ways of inhabiting public space, the project seeks to strengthen the relationship between people and nature in urban environments.
