This proposal addresses the final-year project brief for the Undergraduate degree, which is to design a catering space in the Central Pavilion of the Casa da Arquitetura.

"Prato" forges a link between gastronomy, architecture and culture, treating the restaurant as an extension of the experience offered by the Casa da Arquitetura. Respecting the building’s identity and preserving existing elements, such as the roof structure, the project fosters a dialogue between heritage and contemporary design, creating a space designed for gathering, lingering and sharing.

The design stands out for its use of curved forms in the furniture and spatial layout, which contrast with the geometry of the roof, helping to create a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere. The use of materials and elements associated with Portuguese culture, such as ceramic cladding and tiles, reinforces the space’s identity, whilst an area dedicated to exhibitions at the Casa da Arquitetura maintains a continuous link to the institution’s cultural programme, integrating gastronomy, architecture and heritage into a unique experience.
