“Reversing Realities” was the final project for the degree in Design — Communication at ESAD, developed as part of the KYRT project, which this year took the equation 1 = 1 as its starting point for multiple interpretations. Our proposal stems from the observation that, in the contemporary digital context, all information seems to have the same value. Memes, wars, tutorials and natural disasters coexist side by side, receiving the same attention. The project takes a critical stance on this condition: “if everything is equal, it is urgent to remember that not everything is”, so 1 ≠ 1. Not all information should occupy the same space, have the same weight or circulate indiscriminately.

The project unfolds in three interconnected media — a printed reader, an augmented reality app and a website — which each in their own way stage the effects of hyperinformation and propose ways to counteract it. The book simulates informational collapse, progressively sabotaging reading; the app reconstructs meaning, unlocking critical content hidden on paper; and the website offers a space for continuous, silent reading, where information regains depth. “Reversing Realities” is a critical experience that confronts noise with attention, excess with memory, and passivity with discernment.
