Terms and Conditions of Use
Version 2.0 · in force since 4 August 2026
1. Subject matter and acceptance
These terms govern the use of the esad.pt and esadidea.pt websites and the services offered there, including the careers portal. By using the site, you accept them.
2. Acceptable use
You undertake not to: a) access or attempt to access areas or accounts not intended for you; b) upload unlawful, defamatory or discriminatory content, or content infringing third-party rights; c) upload files containing malicious code; d) automatically harvest data from the site, in particular staff or student data, without written permission; e) compromise the site's availability, security or integrity.
3. Accounts
Access to the restricted area requires an account. Students and staff sign in with their institutional Google account; companies, with a code sent to their registered email address. You are responsible for keeping your access confidential and for all activity on your account; notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
4. Careers portal — students
When creating a profile, you warrant that the information is true and that the files you upload are yours or that you are authorised to use them.
An application is a request to send your profile data — name, email addresses, telephone, biography, links, CV and cover letter — to the company that published the offer. Once sent, the company becomes the controller of that data; your rights over it are exercised against the company. To withdraw an application, write to info@esad.pt: we record it as withdrawn and tell the company.
You may correct your profile and replace your CV at any time. The previous CV remains stored until deleted on request. Deletion of files or of the whole account is done by request to info@esad.pt.
5. Careers portal — companies
A company publishing offers warrants that it is lawfully incorporated, that the offer is genuine and that its content complies with the law, in particular on equality and non-discrimination. Offers are published under the company's responsibility; we may refuse, edit or remove any offer that breaches these terms or the law.
A company receiving applicant data is the controller of that data. It undertakes to use it solely to assess the application, not to disclose it to third parties, not to use it for other purposes — in particular marketing — and to delete it once no longer needed for recruitment.
6. Intellectual property
Site content — texts, images, videos, trade marks, logos and code — belongs to C.I.F.A.D. or to third parties who authorised its use, and is protected by copyright and industrial property law. Reproduction for personal, non-commercial use is permitted, with attribution; any other use requires prior written authorisation. Student work published on the site belongs to its authors and is shown with their permission.
Content you upload remains yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce and communicate it to the extent necessary to provide the service — for an application, to transmit it to the recipient company.
7. Availability and liability
We aim to keep the site available, secure and accurate, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or the absence of errors. Information about programmes, calendars, fees and admission conditions does not replace the applicable official documents, which prevail in case of divergence. We are not liable for use contrary to these terms, for content uploaded by users, or for the content of third-party sites. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not permit to be excluded or limited, in particular towards consumers.
8. Data protection
The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, which form an integral part of these terms.
9. Alternative dispute resolution
In the event of a consumer dispute, you may turn to CICAP — Centro de Informação de Consumo e Arbitragem do Porto (consumer arbitration centre), competent for the municipality of Matosinhos: www.cicap.pt. Further information at www.consumidor.gov.pt. (Lei no. 144/2015, Article 18)
10. Changes
We may change these terms. Changes are published on this page with a new version and date. Where a change is significant and affects account holders, we tell them directly.
11. Applicable law and jurisdiction
Portuguese law applies. Save where mandatory rules provide otherwise, the courts of the Porto district have jurisdiction.
