The applications for courses at ESAD are submitted exclusively through a pedagogical management platform, with the entire process of submitting information and documents carried out remotely.

Application

Candidates may apply to the Master’s in Design, in its areas of specialization — Communication, Interiors, and Product:

• Holders of a Bachelor’s degree or legal equivalent, preferably in the areas of Design, Multimedia, or Architecture;

• Holders of a foreign higher education degree awarded after completing a first cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a state adhering to this process;

• Holders of a foreign higher education degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of a Bachelor’s degree by the Technical-Scientific Council of ESAD;

• Candidates with an academic, scientific, or professional curriculum recognized as demonstrating the capacity to undertake the Master’s in Design.

Selection Criteria

The following factors and their respective weightings will be taken into account when selecting candidates:

• Interview with analysis of Curriculum Vitae and Portfolio (50%)
• Final grade of the Bachelor’s degree (40%)
• Scientific area of the academic degree (10%)

Documents

The application is made online and requires:

• Identification document (for legal purposes)
• Certificate of Qualifications original or certified photocopy
• Portfolio and Curriculum Vitae.

If the qualification certificates do not include a numerical final grade, a declaration from the Higher Education Institution stating this information must be attached (an academic transcript may be used). All official documents not issued in Portugal must be properly authenticated with the Hague Apostille or legalized by the equivalent competent authority (diplomatic authority).
