Carlos Amaral is a filmmaker, post-producer, VFX artist, scriptwriter and lecturer. After a stint as television director, he collaborated with HavasWW making commercials. He took part in the Berlinale Talent Campus (2010), and directed and wrote three short films (2010-2016), winning several awards and nominations throughout his career.
In 2013, he began a career in VFX, collaborating on productions with Bando à Parte and Leopardo Filmes, among others. In 2019, he won a Sophia award in the best visual effects category. In 2021, he premiered his first film Mar Infinito as a director/guide, highlighted by the New York Times as one of the best sci-fi films of the year. Until 2023, he worked on more than 30 films while preparing his next fiction project as director, while preparing his next fiction project as a filmmaker.
