Self-build on the seafront
Self-build a seafront seating area in Matosinhos' beach
Students are challenged to develop the design of a seating area on a designated site on the Matosinhos' beach seafront in the process of self-building. This process begins with a visit to the site, continues with the selection of the place where the architectural object will be and will develop in a close relationship between site, function and low-tech construction process in wood. The students will be divided into groups that will present a proposal after around 20 hours of project work. A jury, comprising ESAD lecturers and representatives of the Matosinhos City Council, will select the project to be implemented and built on site.
