Boat Design Interior

The course promotes knowledge of the design methods and processes that make it possible to create pleasant and appealing nautical environments.

The course provides knowledge of the design methods and processes that enable the creation of pleasant and appealing nautical environments. Its essentially practical nature is underpinned by a theoretical component. It focuses on projects that allow spaces to be designed according to naval design and culture, resulting in high-quality living spaces that are perfectly adapted to their users. Project methodology is applied, using drawings, models and various tools to explore everything from the reduced interior of a small sailboat to the vast spaces in a cruise ship. By testing materials, textures, colors, furniture and lighting which are integrated into circular economy concepts, the sustainability of the solutions is maximized. The general skills to developed will allow concepts to be studied and ideas to be explored, developing the student's procedural and creative independence in the Nautical Interior Design project.
