Introduction to Digital Manufacturing for Interiors
This short course aims to provide participants with technical and conceptual skills in the field of digital manufacturing applied to interior design, with a focus on sustainability. Through a combination of subtractive (CNC router and laser cutting) and additive (3D printing) technologies, trainees will be able to design and develop sustainable, customisable and technically viable furniture and interior cladding solutions. The course integrates knowledge of parametric design, 3D modelling, optimisation of manufacturing processes and careful selection of materials with low environmental impact. The training course culminates in the development of an individual conceptual project, in which participants must apply the knowledge acquired, from ideation to the preparation of files for manufacturing.

Skills
- Critically analyse digital manufacturing technologies (subtractive and additive), understanding their operation, applications and limitations in the context of interior design.
- Apply digital three-dimensional modelling tools, with an emphasis on parametric design, to create pieces adapted to CNC production processes and 3D printing.
- Design solutions that respect the principles of sustainability, minimising waste, choosing appropriate materials and promoting durability and design for disassembly of the objects designed.
- Integrate technical digital manufacturing skills into the development of an interior design project, from conception to the preparation of CAM and slicing files.
- Justify technically and environmentally the decisions made in the development of the final project, based on criteria of functionality, production feasibility and ecological responsibility.

Tuition Fee
Fully funded course: exemption from tuition fees, registration, and insurance. A €25,00 fee is required to reserve a place, which will be refunded upon completion of the course.
