Under the theme ‘Concrete's unsubmissive flora’, the collective A Recoletora and the herbalist and writer Fernanda Botelho took us on a wander around the historic area of Matosinhos, learning to identify ruderal plants (those that grow spontaneously and resiliently in environments heavily disturbed by human action) and getting to know their multiple food and medicinal uses. In this way, we became aware of the value of the plants we (literally) walk over on our daily routes. At the end of the walk, we were also able to enjoy a hot drink.
Exploratório Walks
The Exploratório Walks programme is a proposal from esad-idea that will welcome guests from different areas who will propose connections between places, experiences and themes.
The walks will take place regularly throughout the year and can be critical - with discussion of themes while walking - and/or creative - with silence and deep listening, visual representation or selective recollection as creative processes or in which the walk itself is a performative act.
