esad—idea is organising a creative walk with artist Sevgi Aka on 5 October, exploring the theme ‘Surrender’ through a sensory and reflective experience in Leça da Palmeira.

The walk on 5 October was led by conceptual artist and academic Sevgi Aka. Under the theme ‘Surrender’, we walked to the Tidal Pool. The weather conditions didn't allow us to enter the water, but the experience of surrender and involvement with the environment, which was intended by the relationship with the sea, was brought to us by the rain, wind and fog that stuck to us the whole way. You might think it was an unpleasant experience, but it wasn't at all.
Back at the Exploratório, there was room for creative reflection on the theme of ‘Surrender’, which, rather than being an act of surrender, is also about acceptance. It should be noted that ‘su’ in Turkish means water.
Exploratório Walks
The Exploratório Walks programme is a proposal from esad-idea that will welcome guests from different areas who will propose connections between places, experiences and themes.
The walks will take place regularly throughout the year and can be critical - with discussion of themes while walking - and/or creative - with silence and deep listening, visual representation or selective recollection as creative processes or in which the walk itself is a performative act.
